I've been watching this since it started its run this season. It's an intriguing show. I wish it was able to go more into depth with the politics and backstory contained in the manga, but it's doing a pretty good job of covering the big events.
(Plus, being a huge KKM fan, it's fun to have several of the KKM seiyuu working together on a new show. *g*)
I've seen numerous posts oif Saiyuki fans who are also KKM fans. Maybe I should check it out.
Yes, it does seem that the 07-Ghost anime only touches the surface of the story briefly. From what I gatherd from Wiki, there is much more in the manga. Still struggling with myself whether I should start reading it cos I absolutely dislike the drawings... :(
I don't mind the 07-Ghost manga drawings, but the panels are busy as hell and sometimes it's difficult to see what's going on. The anime is prettier. *g* And they really are doing a good job covering the big bases.
KKM is one of those animes that I never really thought would interest me, but I was hooked pretty much the second I started watching. Its creation has had sort of an ass-backwards kind of evolution, too: it's actually a series of light novels, which were made into an anime, which are now being made into a manga (the manga follows the novels, from what I gather, while the anime - necessarily, I'm told - simplified the novels greatly). The novels are in the process of being fan-translated, but there's loads of them, so it's taking a while. I haven't heard if there are any plans for official translated publication. Anyway, lots of pretty boys, very blatant BL, with the point being made early on that same-sex marriages, while not common, aren't unusual, great seiyuus, characters that actually develop and evolve and Ishida Akira in the third season! :D
