As much as I dislike Alois, I cannot help but feel sorry for him. IMHO, he suffered just as much as Ciel.
Episode 8 tells us what happened to Alois (born Jim McCain) - the incidences that moulded him to what he is - and why he is so bent in possesing Ciel Phantomhive.
The loss of his parents, having to fend for himself & his younger brother at such a tender age, followed shortly by Luca's sudden death, and them victimised by the senior Trancy who is a disgusting paedophile......... As much as he is a victim, he is also a survivor.
I began to understand the hate & darkness in him. I hope this will not be the last we see Alois....
P/S His deepest fear was loneliness. That is so sad. :(
