Let's see if I got this straight - I'm thinking aloud here and what better way then to make a post? ;)
At the end of Season 1, Sebastian is about to devour Ciel's soul and realised the spider demon aka Claude has stolen it.
Sebastian hunts down and finds Ciel's soul hidden in the Phantomhive signet ring in a tea can in the basement / storeroom in the Trancy manor?? (Yeah, I'm going into details here. LOL!!!)
Sebastian places the ring on Ciel and he is revived - he got his soul back which means he is alive?? - but something is not right.
Ciel has lost his memories which means his soul is no longer what Sebastian desired. Sebastian wanted to devour Ciel's soul that has exacted his revenge, not a void/empty one.
Problemo - Ciel has already exacted his revenge (but he does not remember that). Therefore Sebastian has to find a new target for Ciel as if he has yet to exact his revenge.
So he comes to an agreement with Claude - let Alois Trancy be the new target . Once Ciel has gotten his revenge - his soul will be the "type" that Sebastian desires - to put it simply. (This means Sebastian is lying to Ciel for the sake of fulfilling his selfish demonic desire - conjuring a fake enemy. Bad demon!!!)
Ah-ha!! The catch is, in return Claude gets Ciel once Ciel has exacted his revenge!! (I'm thinking as if Sebastian is gonna stand aside and let it happen, contract or not.)
On a side note, about Claude.....
He wants Ciel's body and soul, but he only managed to get the soul.
I'm thinking, then why not fight for it from the beginning? What's the point of stealing and escaping with just the soul when he wanted both? Dumb much????
Anyway now Ciel is back with a soul, but one that has no memories of his revenge , which is also not "appetizing" to Claude. Hence he agrees to the contract with Sebastian.
Claude wants the body & soul of a Ciel who has accomplished revenge.
Sebastian wants the soul of a Ciel who has accomplished revenge.
See the similarity here? LOL!!!
My question - Why is Claude interested in Ciel? How is Claude going to allow Ciel exact revenge on Alois when it's also his duty to protect Alois??
This has to be one of my most mind-boggling post. Confusing and messed up, not forgetting migrane inducing. LOL!!! Now we know why I dun write fic cos it will come out equally jumbled and messy.

And on top of Kuro II, I had to discover Uraboku. That means 2 animes on my watchlists on top of the fanfics I'm obsessed with. :P
But you should really check out the anime if you ever have the time. It's worth it - really. ^^
